NARS Satin Lip Pencil in Hyde Park

Hyde Park has been one of my favorite ‘red’ lip shades since I got it. The NARS site says that Hyde Park is a cardinal red, but from pictures I’ve seen it depends on your coloring and complexion as to how the red will appear on you. I pair it with a more blue/red lip liner because I think it appears as a deep berry color on me, which I am totally cool with.

@Narsissist has a number of shades of their Satin Lip Pencil. All of them are supposed to have great color payoff and be long wearing. My experience with the color Hyde Park is that it looks great with just one coat and lasts at least half the day with some residual light ‘staining’ even after meals.

Here, I’ve used the @bobbibrown lip liner in Plum and given my lips a light coat of foundation as primer before applying Hyde Park:

Such a gorgeous red!

NARS notes that their satin lip pencils are moisturizing, but I still think they would benefit from a light coat of lip balm before application.

I’d like to pick up another of these in the shade Giusti (a nude mauve shade). All 17 of Nars’s satin lip pencils were named after one of the world’s lushest parks or gardens. The color options range from a vivid orange-y red (Timanfaya), to an ultra-light beige-y pink (Biscayne Park) or a dark burgundy (Palais Royal) with a full range of mostly warm hues in between.

NARS also offers their original jumbo, Vitamin E enriched lip pencils in a velvet matte finish in an even wider array of color choices and more purple-hued options. I’ve got my eye on Never Say Never (Pink Lilac). All of these run for $27.00 USD, btw.

Do you have a favorite NARS lip color? If so, leave a note with the color name. I’d love to know, Gorgeous.

XO,

Jen
