I, Jen, began GiveMeGorgeous.com way back in 2013 as a perfect way to have a creative outlet that would also satisfy my slight obsession over makeup & skin care.

Over time I’ve gained a wealth of first-hand cosmetics and skin care expertise, that comes from an avid personal interest in all things beauty. I mostly review and write about products that I have spent time researching and chosen to purchase for my own use. Even though I do love a dazzling champagne eyeshadow, I fundamentally believe that the surest way to a flawless face begins with babying your skin!

After growing up in Washington state, and graduating from the University of Washington with a bachelor’s degree in Communications, I decided to study graphic design for a year. I also began to explore my love for travel with visits to places like Milan, Paris, Florence, Vienna, Dubai and the Caribbean isles—all while working a regular day job.

However, as my cosmetics collection steadily grew and the weekly discussions with my sister and friends over trending beauty persisted, I was inspired to start this blog.

GiveMeGorgeous posts will ALWAYS be for everyone and anyone who loves shopping for, finding, and having the right makeup and beauty tools at their fingertips. Even though I favor products that work best with my coloring and skin type, I try to include tips that will help you find what will work best for your particular needs within the product category. On my site you will find Jen-tested application techniques, new cosmetics reviews, products in a variety of price ranges, as well as practical ideas for alternative uses for products you probably already have!

The colors and beauty niches that I choose may be the latest to hit the market, or tried-and-true favorites. Posts are a combination of couture makeup; name-brand cosmetics; and easy to find beauty selections from Ulta, Sephora or the drugstore.

Although true beauty does come from within, wearing a little makeup certainly doesn’t hurt!
