HAWAIIAN TROPIC Silk Hydration weightless face
With the hopes of sunny skies on the horizon, and winter being over, you may start thinking more about sunscreen. Truth be told, I wear sun protection on my face all year round, regardless of the weather.
Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration weightless face has been around for a while, and has even gone through a formula revision since its inception. I just found it, and I love how lightweight it is!
The lotion, in its clear plastic bottle, is just off-white with a caramel colored ribbon running throughout it (what Hawaiian Tropic calls a ‘dual ribbon formula’) which may the separation of some of the exotic tropic botanicals ingredients.
The lid pumps the very faintly coconut-scented lotion out, and mixes the product ribbons together. It blends out very easily (no white residue left behind) on skin. And, it absorbs into facial skin very quickly.
I was delighted that this lotion is so lightweight, it moisturizes for 12 hours and protects against sun damage (broad spectrum UVA/UVB) with SPF 30 (although you do need to reapply at least every two hours in the sun). It is water resistant too, but for the duration of 80 minutes at a stretch.
I put it on after washing my face with water in the morning and using a serum or moisturizing spray, before makeup. After it absorbs (almost instantly), it is breathable, non-greasy, doesn’t run or melt during the day and calms my skin surface with its moisture.
I read a bunch of reviews about Weighless Face Silk Hydration and found that people either loved it, or had used the previous formula that they had liked better. Some people also seemed to have a sensitivity to some of the ingredients but I have had no issues.
Important for my oily complexion too, besides being non-greasy, this is oil-free, dermatologist tested, and will not clog pores. I’m hooked now!
The details:
- 1.7 fl.oz. or 50ml

- I got my bottle at Walmart for $7.92USD

Even though it is water-based, as I mentioned, it is water-resistant for 80 minutes. Perfect!
