FENTY BEAUTY Killawatt Foil Freestyle Highlighter Palette
Killawatt Foil by Fenty Beauty is a clutch of metallic highlighters that comes in an octagon shaped, magnetic closure palette (about 5.5″ in diameter on any side and .5″ thick). The cool metallic silver/blue/pink/grey cover design of this unique palette is of cracked frost and ice.
The packaging is just the first clue that what is inside will be fabulous!
The shades within are a set of multi-purpose highlighters that are exclusively limited-edition. Once I saw Killawatt Foil go on sale from $54. to $38. (on Fenty Beauty and Sephora) I snatched this up right away.
All of the shades are totally gorgeous and of exquisite quality. Each of the pans of color are a cream-to-powder hybrid, as well as very finely milled, which creates some extraordinary staying power too. They feel like a cream directly out of the pan but go on the skin as a weightless ‘second skin’ powder.
And, all 7 of these colors never look powdery once they are on the skin (won’t settle into lines or wear unevenly). They can be blended-out, intensified, layered or faded into one another. They are simply fabulous!
Starting with the center shade, then working around clockwise from the top of the palette (each pan is 2.8g/1.0oz):
- STONE COLD (middle)—mica frost with pale blue flash
- SCANDAL ‘ICE —glistening ice-y lavender with a micro hot pink flash
- CHILLZ—glacial silvery blue with an ice blue crystalline flash
- HUNNY SLOPE—a wash of shimmering golden coral
- COPPIN ICE—fiery, glistening copper
- HEART BURN—sheer shimmering bronze
- SUBZERO—glistening indigo with frozen blue micro sparkles
I like to use my finger tips to apply these because of their hybrid texture. That also ensures I transfer the greatest color payoff. The array of warm and cool colors allows for a zillion combinations (and layering) of application techniques.
The three palest shades (STONE COLD, SCANDAL ‘ICE, CHILLZ) work best on the high points of the face. I like the SUBZERO (blue) as an eye color, while the 3 definitely warm-hued shades (HEART BURN, COPPIN ICE, HEART BRUN) look great on eyelids, lid crease, lash lines and for face contouring. You could use this palette for a whole week (or more) and never repeat a look.
Here are a few pix, over a number of days, with highlighting from this palette (and some colors used on eyes in addition to other makeup):
Killawatt can go as bold or subtle as you like. These shades are 100% cruelty-free and contain NO: Parabens, Sulfates or Phthalates. Perfect.
If you think you might like this palette, better pick one up before they are gone. Fenty by Rihanna products are proving to be very carefully designed with compatible colors that I think will work on virtually any complexion. I have not had any problem with these in combination with my typically oily skin type. The colors look good all day and don’t fade (even though I do always add a setting spray).
If you have this collection, let me know how you like them. xo, Jen
Have a gorgeous day!!!
