Drunk Elephant The Big Reveal Kit skincare
I received ‘The Big Reveal’ kit by Drunk Elephant as a birthday gift in November! It is something I had hinted I would like because I had never tried their products before but had heard great things about them.
The kit itself is pretty BIG! A hexagon tower, it stands seven inches tall and is just under three inches in width on each side (of the six sides) with a diameter of just over 5 inches:
The sides of the box detail ‘game’ rules on how to use the products and in what order to use them. Full details on each of the products are also provided here. The box is divided into two sections that house the products and fit stacked together. The lid hinges open to reveal a full sized Babyfacial, and the rest of the products are contained in the lower section:
The underside of the box lists all the ingredients of each product.
The ‘game’ or process amounts to pampering your facial skin, although you only want to use the recommended sequence more than 1 time a week, at most (a couple of the steps include exfoliation, so you never want to overdo that!).
How to play the GAME:
STEP 1—BESTIE NO. 9 Jelly Cleanser (30ml/1 fl oz)
Wash face with Bestie No. 9. Rinse with lukewarm water. Pat dry.
The lid of Bestie No. 9 screws open to reveal a hole in the center of the lid that you can squeeze the product through. This cantaloupe glycerin face wash is clear and is powerful enough to remove all makeup and dirt. The jelly is fairly thick and unscented. It can be worked into a light lather in your palm before being applied to your face.
STEP 2—T.L.C. Sukari Babyfacial (50ml/1.67 fl oz)
Apply an even layer of Babyfacial to your freshly washed face. Wait 20 minutes for acids to gently exfoliate away dead skin cells. Then, rinse with warm water. Voila!
My sister swears by this pro-quality ‘facial-in-a-bottle.’ Glycolic, tartaric, tactic, citric and salicylic acids all work together to reveal ‘baby soft’ skin, making your face oh so touchable. Baby facial comes out creamy and is virtually clear on skin. It really is an amazing product. Plus, exfoliation will allow moisturizers to work better.
STEP 3—B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Serum & Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil (each 8ml/0.27 fl oz)
This step is a combination of 1 pump of B-Hydra Serum mixed with 2 drops of Virgin Marula Oil.
Mix these two together and apply to face (it can also be used on neck, chest, hands, cuticles and backs of arms—any place that needs extra hydration). Then, again rinse with warm water after 20 minutes.
STEP 4—Lippie Balm (3.7g/.13oz)
As a final step, apply Lippie Balm to lips. Power ingredients in Lippie are avocado, mongongo, cranberry and macula oils, as well as peptides and fern algae. And, it also contains antioxidant packing Vitamin C and green tea leaf. Sunchapped, dry or cracked lips will be healed, softened and plumped in no time!
Overall, a great kit with one full-size product (Babyfacial) and four minis. This kit is said to be a $132.00 value that was priced at $88.00. And, I believe that it is a very good value because the full sized Babyfacial, alone, retails for $80.00.
I don’t see that Sephora actually still carries this particular kit anymore although you can find it on the Drunk Elephant site. Sephora now has two smaller options (that are also great if you want to try Drunk Elephant): The Littles (8 product minis!), a NightBright Duo, and a Rise + Glow Duo.
This set solves, skin dullness, dryness and unevenness. It will banish dead skin cells you didn’t even know were still hanging around and reveal softer/more even toned skin. A perfect fix for skin coping with harsh winter weather.
Drunk Elephant is great because they formulate their products based on biocompatibility, they are cruelty-free, and they do not contain the ‘suspicious 6’ (essential oils, drying alcohols, silicones, chemical screens, fragrance/dyes, and SLS (Sodium Lauryl Sulfate). They focus on products that balance PH levels and work for all skin types. This is a fabulous brand!
I would love to hear from you if you already know and adore Drunk Elephant products and/or have other product recommendations from their line.
xo,
Jen
