COVER FX Mattifying Prime and Set minis
I particularly wanted to try CoverFX‘s Matte Setting Powder for baking my under eye area, but luckily found that Cover FX had this great little set of mini matte products for only $25.00. So, I ended up getting the set instead, to be able to not only try the powder but also the Mattifying Setting Spray and the Mattifying Primer.
By the way the setting spray and powder will work fine for oily to normal skin types, but the primer has Salicylic Acid so it is really best for oily skin (or as a once in a while acne outbreak treatment).
- Matte Setting Powder in Light, 4g/0.14oz
Very happy I tried this powder, it has so many great benefits. Coverfx’s loose setting powders just may be the powder even for those who don’t like face powder, as they are fundamentally sheer, absolutely melt into your skin! (with NO chalkiness), and keep makeup in place ALL DAY.
This matte setting powder does NOT settle into fine lines, but vanishes into skin. It’s the absolute best for BAKING because it is lightweight and sheer. Plus, it is talc-free.
Here I am using it to bake my foundation/concealer, just after application:
I selected and purchased the color Light for my complexion (and because its sheer), but this powder also comes in the hues Medium (sheer with a hint of warmth) and Deep (sheer with a tiny bit of tint for darker complexions).
- Mattifying Primer with Anti-Acne Treatment, 15ml/0.5floz
A clear gel that has 1% Salicylic Acid to combat acne, this primer is oil-free and super lightweight. The gel also minimizes the appearance of pores. It contains NO: parabens, sulfates, fragrance, gluten, talc or mineral oil (so it will not irritate already upset skin).
Mattifying Primer gently exfoliates and assists in cell turnover with fruit AHAs. It protects skin from free radicals with the antioxidants Vitamin C and E.
I’ve found that this works best for me as a spot treatment some days for the oily t-zone of my face (depending on if I’ll be more active or outdoors). It can also, or alternatively, be used at night to target skin flare ups (at most 2x a day). You’ll only need to use a drop the size of a pea per application, and as said you don’t need to use it all over the face. It does keep makeup in place very well!
- Mattifying Setting Spray, 30ml/1.0floz
Love! this setting spray. It is fast drying, alcohol-free, matte, weightless and sets makeup with an ultra-fine mist. I’ve tried some setting sprays that spray out droplets that leave my face wet, but the eentsy particles of this spray come out in a wide enough arch to set my full face in just one or two sprays.
It is clinically tested, vegan, and minimizes pores. Has NO: parabens, fragrance, gluten, mineral oil or talc. It is not sticky. Plus, has the power to set makeup for 12 hours. Bonus that it controls shine too!
#CoverFX also has an Illuminating Prime & Set kit of minis, that I have my eye on now (also for $25.) that comes with a mini bottle of illuminating drops as well as setting spray and primer.
This is one of the best setting sprays I have tried.
Here are links for a few of the places where you can find these sets: CoverFX, or Sephora has at least one of the sets, the Dermstore, and Ulta has the full size products.
Make it a great week, Gorgeous!
