BIRCHBOX March 2018—finally. spring.
It’s springtime again! Finally!! Spring! March’s Birchbox items are geared towards spending more time outdoors and feeling the sunshine on your face again.
I hope you are enjoying the spring thaw, and the flowers that are starting to bloom! Here are the items I received in my March Birchbox subscription:
And, I just wanted to remind everyone (for those who may not familiar) that Birchbox tailors your subscription to your skin type, color and preferences based on a survey you take when you subscribe, and which you can retake at any time (especially if you aren’t getting items you like). The products I received this month are fabulous!
- ACURE ORGANICS—Brilliantly Brightening Face Scrub (this product used to be called Brightening Facial Scrub)
This dark green face scrub gets its hue from sea kelp. That sea kelp softens and detoxes skin. Other important ingredients are French green clay (which probably also contributes to the color) & lemon peel that clean away impurities; and Madonna lily that brightens skin. *It also contains Vitamin A that you should use with caution if you are also taking Vitamin A supplements, and (of course) avoid contact with eyes.
The sea kelp forms small granuals that help to slough off dead skin and ensure an ultra clean. To use: add to a damp face, gently massage with your fingertips, then rinse. Acure recommends using 3x a week.
I do find it softens skin. However, I’ll probably add it to my regime, but only once a week.
This white styling cream protects tresses from heat and humidity, and makes hair sleek and shiny. It relies on an Oribe Signature Complex, that includes: watermelon, lychee, & edelweiss flower extracts). The cream is heat activated to protect hair from styling damage, humidity and frizz.
I rub the cream into my clean, damp hair before blowdrying. (A flat iron will also help heat activate it.) Besides smoothing hair strands, it adds shine, strengthens hair fibers, seals split ends and adds body.
I love the way it makes my hair feel so soft. And really, it is a true powerhouse multi-tasker!
You may have seen ads for this pink clay mask. It is made from Australian kaolin clay, organic aloe vera and Kakadu plum. Ingredients deep clean your face, pulling out impurities, promoting skin cell regeneration, stimulating collagen production, and helping prevent free radical damage. What more could one ask for?!
To use: Smooth over clean skin. Leave on for 10 minutes. Rinse. It can be used up to 3 times a week, particularly if you have an oily complexion.
I’m so happy to receive this sample. It is amazing stuff!
I have several products from Supergoop already, so I’m always happy to receive more item from this brand. And, who couldn’t use more CC Cream?
With 100% mineral actives, this color correcting cream is perfect for sensitive skin. It is SPF 40 with lightweight, self-adjusting color, and light diffusing mica. Even though the coverage seems fairly sheer, the mica helps to really blur imperfections. I like to add a drop under each eye after foundation, because it helps cover any dark circles (while it protects!).
The full size comes in three shades: Fair to Light (this one), Light to Medium, and Medium to Dark. Fair to Light is perfect for my skin.
This is definitely the most fun item for March. It’s a semi-sheer lip gloss that contains moisturizing coconut and jojoba oils. And, as a bonus, it smells like donuts.
Sugar Glaze can be worn alone or over lipstick color. It comes in three shimmering shade options: Sugar Glaze (iridescent crystal, which I received), Cherry Glaze (coral pink) and Berry Glaze (a lavender-y, soft purple). I like this gloss because it is complex enough to hold its own. I think the Sugar Glaze color has a pale purple shift to it, which I like, as well as the fact that it is smooth vs. sticky.
Let me know if you subscribe to Birchbox, and if you like your items this month as much as I do.
Make it a Gorgeous day!
xo,
Jen
