BIRCHBOX February 2018—Follow Your Heart

Birchbox’s theme for February is Follow Your Heart, which means do the things that bring your heart joy. And, this month’s products are meant to put a spark in your routine and spring in your step. Which is nice as we all wait for Springtime to begin and winter to fade. Hopefully you are starting to see daffodils and crocus emerging in your neighborhood.

Some suggestions of things that might bring you joy, in the moment, are: Go for a hike, Sip Champagne, Give someone a hug, Sing in the shower,  or Wear your brightest pink blush today!

Here are the products I received this month:

  • CLEAN Reserve Amber Saffron perfume

The whole line of #CLEAN scents are very nice. Tending towards fresh and light, no matter the scent, all in the collection are very wearable.

This is the first time I have been able to try the Amber Saffron version. Within the floral oriental family, this perfume has notes of lily, raspberry and mandarin oil, as well as distinctive hints of saffron, amber and musk. It is a light enough scent to wear any time of day. Although I usually prefer something more floral in tone, this one is still nice. If you love musky scents however, this one will make a perfect daytime eau de parfum.

  • MAC Strobe Cream in Pinklite

Not just a highlighter, I love that this strobe cream includes vitamins, botanicals and green tea. It brightens your complexion with a subtly dazzling, faint pink highlight that easily blends out to any desired amount of strobe. Pinklite is a great shade for all skin tons, and MAC also makes the shade Silverlite for fairer complexions.

Stobe Cream is a great product for skin that longs for the sunnier months. You can easily mix this with  your moisturizer for an all over glow.

  • Milk Makeup Lip Color in Dip Out

Burgundy is an all time favorite lip shade for me, so I was delighted to receive this sample. Dip Out is supposed to be a universally flattering shade too, for all complexions. You can feel the creamy texture of ingredients like shea butter and coconut oil when you wear this moisturizing formula. It also includes grapefruit peel to further keep lips moist. One swipe is all you will need because the color payoff is pleasantly intense.

The full size comes in a choice of four shades: C.R.E.A.M (light nude), Dip Out (wine), O.G. Red (orange leaning red), Freshhh (bright pink), or Gnarly (lavender pink). I may also want to get the ‘Gnarly’ one for spring.

  • Number 4 TM L’eau de Mare Hydrating shampoo and conditioner

It’s nice that the L’eau de Mare shampoo is travel-size, but the sample of conditioner is only a small packet. Larger sizes of either of these run between $34-$78, so it’s good to be able to try them out before any full purchase. Relying on natural extracts and oils, these will rescue dried out and over-processed strands, which my hair can definitely use. Plus, the shampoo lathers well, which I like. Either has a light herbal scent.

and

  • The Beauty Crop Wing Woman liquid eyeliner in Black

Who couldn’t use another black liquid eyeliner?! Perfect!

I have used this one to create winged eyeliner. It doesn’t flake, smudge or melt during the day, and nourishing natural ingredients prevent any color fade or eye irritation. The slightly bendy tapered tip makes gliding the color on sooo easy. Love this one!

Wing Woman just may be my new go-to liquid liner!

Overall, a great month of samples from Birchbox:

Do you subscribe to Birchbox, or already use any of these products?  If so, would love to hear what you liked and didn’t like for February’s box.

xo!
