TOO FACED Chocolate Gold palette

By now, you’ve probably heard about Too Faced’s oh so popular ‘Chocolate’ palettes that are made with real cocoa powder. This latest one, Chocolate Gold, has a number of glittery shades that are made with gold! And, since we are now in February, and it is almost Valentine’s Day, I thought this would be a perfect time to blog this lovely palette:

Like the other Chocolate palettes, this one smells divinely of chocolate! And, the 100% natural cocoa powder ingredient is good for your skin too. What’s not to like?

The majority of the colors in Chocolate Gold are metallics, that range from fuchsia pink to brilliant copper to deep khaki green. Even though they are metallics, all of these go on smoothly and have minimal fallout. They can be applied with a damp, flat brush to get the most brilliant impact, or with a dry fluffy brush to blend them out into a lovely sheer glamorous sparkle (or in combination of these two techniques for depth and intrigue). These metallics do not include glitter!

Chocolate Gold contains mostly metallic eyeshadows, but also 4 matte shades: one black (a must-have), a medium warm brown, a darker warm brown and a cream (all on the right hand side of the palette).

Of the 4 matte shades, there is one large tray that is Rollin’ In Dough—a champagne/cream shade. This light, neutral shade makes a great base lid color and also works well as an under eyebrow highlighter/contrast color. The medium brown/cinnamon shade Cocoa Truffle is a perfect lid crease color, and So Boujee works for a softer daytime crease shade. Decadent is the go-to matte black that every palette should include, for lining eyes or creating a bold evening lid.

The metallic shades also include one larger pan: Chocolate Gold. Of course! This brilliant metallic is a true gold shade. Supposedly with a touch of real gold that gives it extra sparkle. I like to use this one as a sheer top layer over other colors, applying it with a dry brush to take advantage of its lovely sheen.

Here is a recent look I created:

I used the deep purple Livin’ Lavish along the top lash line and on the outer crease to the center of the lid. I applied fuchsia New Money on the inner third of each lid to give the look some pop. Next, I brushed Love & Cocoa on the outer third of each lid, and the taupe-y metallic Rich Girl on the center of each lid. Lastly, I used a little of Rollin’ In Dough just under my eyebrows.

Below, are all the eyeshadows, first in bright sunlight then in filtered sunlight:

All of these eyeshadows are SO gorgeous! The metallic shades are impactful and versatile. The mattes, are just the right amount of colors you need to perfect a look. You can create quite a range of lids with this well thought-out eyeshadow collection. All of them apply smoothly and softly. They are long wearing (even without primer) and have very little, if any, fallout.

The 14 smaller pans of color are 0.03oz/0.85g each, and the 2 larger pans are 0.07oz/2g in size. Bonus, these are all cruelty-free and contain NO gluten, parabens or phthalates! In my opinion, this Chocolate Gold is definitely worth its price of $49.00 USD. Let’s hope Too Faced keeps this one around for a LONG time.

Other palettes by Too Faced in the Chocolate family include: Chocolate Bar, Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bar, Matte Chocolate Chip, White Chocolate Chip and Chocolate Bon Bon. I’ve been eyeing the White Chocolate palette for my next TF purchase!

Have a great week, Gorgeous!!!

xoxo,

Jen
