NYX Illuminator in Narcissistic

I’ve had this NYX Illuminator for a little while now, and wear it whenever my skin needs some brightening (as in the winter).

NYX’s Illuminator comes in 5 different, fairly sheer, shades.

The one I chose is named Narcissistic. It is a very pale, sheer peach with a slight iridescence that makes skin glow. The overall effect with this color is fairly natural and barely there, which I like. It brightens the complexion by diffusing light for a soft aura.

Other shades of NYX’s Illuminator include:

Chaotic—medium warm pink with a gold sheen (can double as a blush)

Enigmatic—pale pink with gold sheen

Magnetic—coral/peachy pink with gold shift and some glitter (the only shade with glitter)

Ritualistic—white gold sheen

You can find this illuminator at NYXCosmetics.com , Ulta, and Target, to name a few stores. I purchased mine at Ulta for around $9.00 USD, which seems to be the average rate for this product among all the sellers.

Use this like any face highlighter, by brushing it along any or all of the high points of your face (that generally pick up light, even in low light situations): top of the cheek bones, along the curve of the forehead, down the center of the nose, on the tear duct area of eyes and on the widow’s peak of the upper lip.

I like to use a fan brush or fluffy face brush to apply this powder, for a light hand that allows a fine placement of the product to pick up natural or indoor lighting. *Tip: apply your illuminator/highlighter with a fan brush before you apply blush, then buff out the illuminator with a denser face brush to blend into skin and edge of blush (for no harsh lines).

The particles that make up this illuminator vary in size a bit, but have a base of very finely milled color.

This is such an easy to wear illuminator, and I think this shade would look good on almost anyone.

In addition, lately I’ve been eyeing the Becca Apres Ski Glow Collection for eyes, FARSALI Jelly Beam Highlighter, VAPOUR Halo Illuminator.  and the TARTE Overexposed Highlighter set. Plus, it looks like HUDA has a very good liquid highlighter as well. Love these for their power to glow!

Let me know if you use one of these, or have a favorite that I didn’t mention.

Illuminators are an easy way to give your complexion extra dimension and candlelight glow. They’re perfect for date night!

Oooh, looks lovely! The brushes you have are gorgeous too, I love the unicorn/mermaid vibes! I have been seeing the Farsali Jelly Highlighter everywhere and it looks so cool, plus the swatches are unreal. So. Friggen. Glowy. My favorite at the moment is the Fenty Beauty Killawatt Highlighter, it gives the most beautiful glow to the skin.
