Macy’s LANCOME gift + Color Design lipstick and Effacil

During Macy’s gift with purchase event was a great time to re-order Effacil Refreshing Eye Makeup Remover and a tube of Color Design lipstick. The gift included a choice of one of three skincare duos, a mini makeup set and small size Bi-Facil makeup remover. Plus, the gift came with a pink or red tote bag:

The bag is really bright – it came in either red with a  pink base color or red with a pink base color. I chose the mostly pink bag – the color is a little difficult to distinguish in the photos. A fun flamingo and lip print pattern lines the inside of the bag. Really, you can never have too many of these handy little totes:

I had been meaning to buy new makeup remover from Lancome, so the gift offer came at the perfect time. Usually use the Bi-Facial, but decided on the Effacil since it is I had not tried it before and I needed to restock my makeup remover. Face soap works effectively for me to first remove most of a day’s makeup but getting mascara off calls for something a little more powerful. However, the Effacil is not recommended for waterproof makeup and so does not work all the time for me.

I am happy that the gift set came with a small sample of the regular makeup remover, Bi-Facil, because I will definitely use that as well.

The Color Design lipstick color I selected is #214 Trendy Mauve (Cream), which is a shade I had not tried previously. And, since, it’s fairly difficult to determine how a color swatch online will really look once you apply it to your lips – I took a chance.

It turns out that Trendy Mauve is a very nice pale, matte, neutral mauve. To me it looks very different in indoor lighting (very pale almost pink) than it does in sunlight (more medium-toned mauve).

Luckily I do like the color with my skin tone! It will be a gorgeous daytime lipstick.

For the gift I chose these items from the available selections:

  • The Absolue skincare duo in a daydream with SPF 15 and an eye cream – this line works to replenish and rejuvenate
  • Blush Subtil in Rose Fresque and La Base Pro makeup primer
  • and, everyone who got this gift received a sample Bi-Facil eye makeup remover

The Rose Fresque blush is such a fresh and bright pink – just what I was looking for to brighten up my complexion. Love this color.

I also received three perfume samples with this order. Two are for men – which I will give to my SO to try: POLO Ralph Lauren, Blue and John Varvatos, Artisan Aqua (this one has a nice citrusy element). The last sample is a Juicy Couture Eau de Parfum – that has a sweet, taffy/apple scent.

Hope everyone is having a gorgeous week!
