OGX Nourishing+ Coconut Oil – weightless hydrating oil mist

OGX Nourishing Coconut Oil hydrating mist is soooo nice! It adds shine, hydration and strength to hair strands. Plus, it smells divine – like a freshly opened coconut and a day at the beach. Perfect for upcoming summer days when hair needs more moisture.

I picked-up this 4oz spray bottle of hair mist at Target for US$5.99. It’s made by OGX (formerly known as Organix).

The instructions recommend misting on towel-dried hair, but this mist can also be used on dry tresses to add shine and tame fly-aways. Its texture is super light (“weightless”)!  And, it does not leave behind oily residues of any kind. Don’t be scared by the word ‘oil’ in its description, as this spray is okay even for hair that has a tendency to be oily (like mine).

There are so many benefits to Coconut Oil for hair. It is known to penetrate hair shafts and reduce core protein loss. Another big benefit is its high moisture retaining capacity – assisting with the prevention of breakage, split ends and even dandruff, all while giving hair added softness and shine.

This weightless oil mist also contains Bambusa Vulgaris (Bamboo Extract), for improved elasticity. Bamboo Extract contains silica which is an essential building material for hair, skin and nails. Silica strengthens hair strands, contributing to the formula’s anti-aging properties by making up for the hair’s loss of silica production with age.

I definitely recommend this multi-tasking hair mist. With such a pleasant tropical scent, it may be just what you need to brighten your mood in anticipation of sunny days!
