BIRCHBOX March 2017 + LOC lip trio

March’s BIRCHBOX is themed: Pretty Mighty! Plus, this shipment included my extra order—a trio of LOC matte lip pencils. The theme Pretty Mighty is in honor of Women’s History Month—March.

Reese Witherspoon’s Southern-style brand Draper James helped Birchbox choose products that evoke feminine power (featuring high-performing formulas), for the woman with grace and presence.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The items I received, based on my personal preferences, are:

• ARROW – Bright Now, eye brightener and highlighting eyeliner

This is a waterproof eye brightener/eyeliner. It’s a lovely pale pearly pink, and when applied to the water line and/or insider corners of your eyes helps bring out your eye color and the whites of your eyes. Overall, giving a look of health and drawing attention to the color of your eyes.

Love! that this product is also Vegan, Paraben-free, Cruelty-free and Gluten-free. Plus, being waterproof, it tends to actually stay put on your waterline!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

• BIODERMA – Sebium H2O, Micellar Water makeup remover

Micellar Water is all the rage right now as a gentle makeup remover, that also helps keep skin’s moisture locked-in, and requires no rinsing (no water). This one will not irritate oily skin, nor upset your face by stripping hydration. It’s an easy to use makeup remover and face cleaner designed for acne-prone skin. Apply it directly to a cotton ball for wiping away cosmetics and any build-up from the day.

It feels refreshing on skin, has only a very slight ‘green’ scent, and takes away ALL surface gunk.

A micelle that is non-comedogenic, paragon-free and without dyes.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

• COOLA – Mineral BB Cream, mineral sunscreen

This oh so creamy and smooth face protector has a neutral, universal tint that will look great on most, drying with a matte finish.

It provides the face with a powerful mineral sunscreen by way of Titanium Dioxide and Zinc Oxide – for a broad spectrum SPF of 30. It’s also water resistant for 40 minutes after applied, made with 70% organic ingredients and includes free radical fighting antioxidants. If that wasn’t enough, it is cruelty-free and unscented as well.

I really love the texture, it applies so effortlessly (no tugging) with fingertips, blends out easily and is totally un-greasy.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

• KLORANE – Dry Shampoo with nettle

I’ve tried this one before, with very good results. The fact that, when dispensed, it comes out of the aerosol can in an utrafine spray adds to an even application. The spray comes out pretty fast too, so you need to be quick to make sure your application is accurate.

Dry shampoos are a fabulous invention for between washings, or when you hit the snooze button too many times. They make sure your hair looks fresh when you don’t have time to wash it. The power ingredients in this formula are rice starches, vitamins and nettle extracts – working together to absorb excess oil, add volume and revitalize tresses for a 2nd day of great hair

• NUMBER 4 – Super Comb Prep & Protect, leave-in conditioner

This leave-in cares for color-treated hair by protecting color from heat, chemicals and UV rays – important for my tresses since I regularly have my hair foiled. Apply it to towel-dried hair before brushing it out, to first detangle and condition. Colored hair always seems to tangle a bit more, which means I ALWAYS use a leave-in conditioner. This one works very well to de-stress hair.

I will probably purchase a full-size of this when I’m finished with the sample because of it it’s divine scent. It has the aroma of an array of white flowers, with a touch of amber and musk. So happy this sample was part of March’s box.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Before this box was shipped I got email notice that I could choose one of the items and I selected the eye brightener. Another notification was received letting me know there were items for sale that could be added to my order, and I decided to buy a LOC (Love of Cosmetics) matte lip trio.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Trendsetters, Vibrant Matte Lip Trio by LOC came with three pre-selected mini lip pencil shades:

• Color Me Confident (medium burgundy rose wine)
• Playful (light peachy pink)
• Rose to the Occassion (medium mauve) *my fave

 

These go on creamy and are designed to stay soft. I’m very pleased with this set and like that they are such a handy size for tossing in my purse.
