IPSY – January 17 and December 16 GLAM BAGS

I’m posting both my January 2017 and December 2016 IPSY bags in this post. Make sure to read on past the first post to see the other bag!

This month’s IPSY bag was all about City Essentials and looking like you own the concrete jungle! Inspiration for the perforated silver bag and all of the cosmetics selections came from thoughts of skyscrapers and preparation for the jostle of the big city before hitting the streets. These are the items I received (minus the keys and jewelry – which are mine):

the balm Bahama Mama – bronzing powder

This matte bronzing powder is the color of a deep tan without any copper tones or sparkle. I like to use it to contour around the top and sides of my forehead, down the sides of my nose and just under my cheek bones. It will also work fine for a lid crease color. A great mutitasker.

jelly pong pong – lip scrub

Although its scent is a strange mix of coffee and coconut, this lip scrub works to remove dead skin cells from lips to prepare them to hold lip color without flaking or feathering. I like to use it in the shower so it doesn’t get too messy. Its working ingredients are: golden sugar, jojoba and rosehip oil. Even lips need prepping and priming.

 Mannakadar Beauty – paradise blush

A deep orangy/pink apricot, this blush can be applied lightly to give cheeks a sheer glow but also works well on darker complexions because its color is buildable. The color is a little too warm for my complexion, but it gives my skin a brightening effect with a sheer application.

SLMissGlam IPSY – L34 Blend Beauty brush

This lavender, ombre bristled brush is all GLAM with two inlaid rhinestones on its ferrule. Its super-soft synthetic bristles are full enough to work fabulously for applying a sparkly champagne or matte cream all-over lid eyeshadow color.

And, the final product . . .

Temptu – BASE Smooth & Matte Primer

This primer comes out of the container a milky white, but is quickly absorbed in skin to provide a matte palette for makeup. It has no cakey residue and helps to minimize pores. I’ve used it mid-day on my forehead to calm mid-day shine and it almost instantly makes skin matte.

          IPSY December 2017 – carpe p.m.:

December’s bag includes products to have you party-ready to celebrate the new year, and help your makeup stay on through bright lights and long nights. The bag itself looks like a mini on-the-town clutch purse. Its a very pretty, bright berry color and the fabric has a fine ‘furry’ feeling with shiny threads coming off its surface.

City Color – BeMatteBlush trio

The three colors included in this blush palette are: fresh melon, blackberry and guava. Each ‘ultra-fine’ powder color creates a pretty, matte, flushed cheek.

Jersey Shore Cosmetics – Moisture Rich Hydrating Balm

With the scent of peppermint, this creamy balm can be used on lips as wells as anywhere there is a dry patch of skin. Its combo of sunflower oil, cocoa butter and coconut oil can also help sooth hands, nose, cheeks or on any dry patch.

Hikari – liquid liner in iris

The color of an iris flower, this liquid eyeliner goes on easily and stays put without a smudge all night.

Smashbox – insta-matte

Lastly, instal-matte is applied over lipstick to instantly make it matte. Other benefits include: improves lipstick wear, prevents feathering and softens the look of lines and wrinkles at the edges of lips. It gives lip color a velvety look. Tap it on over cream lipsticks with your finger for lips color that won’t melt under the heat of lights.

Let me know if you have any tricks that really work to increase the wear of your makeup! Hope you enjoyed seeing what I received in my IPSY bags these two months.

Cheers!

Jen
