BIO OIL moisturizing and correcting oil

BIO-OIL is in a word AMAZING, for correcting skin tone and intensively moisturizing!

I found this product while looking at Target for a pure organic aloe oil, which I previously had been using to try and treat the discoloration of some older scars. BIO-OIL works MUCH better than all the previous treatments I’ve tried!

It can be used to heal the look of scars, stretch marks and uneven skin tone, as well as soothe skin dryness due to weather or sun exposure. And, it can improve the look of old or new scars although it probably works best on freshly healed scars (not suggested to be used on not yet healed wounds).

It works by utilizing vitamins and the extracts of plant oils, along with the company’s trademarked ingredient PurCellin Oil, that are all suspended in a mineral oil to treat skin.

Their trademarked oil ingredient works to reduce the overall thickness of the product for easy application and quick skin absorbtion.  It also serves as an emollient to soften skin.

The directions say to apply it twice a day for at least 3 months with a circular motion until it is absorbed. It’s only meant for topical use and should be kept away from contact with eyes.

I first tried applying it to various lingering scars with a Q-tip, but have found that it is much better to put in on skin directly from the tip of my finger, in order not to lose most of the oil in the cotton of the applicator.

 It looks orange in the bottle, but goes onto skin clear.

*The raw plant extracts retain their potency and just-extracted goodness due to the oil base – it provides an oxygen-free environment that does not break down the ingredients.

Key ingredients are: Mineral Oil, Vitamins A & E as well as plant oils from Calendula, Lavender, Rosemary and Chamomile.

I try to be careful to only use oil-free products on my face, to avoid breakouts, so it is good to note that this is non-greasy, hypoallergenic and fine for sensitive skin. It also absorbs so quickly, that it does not end up sitting on the surface of skin. And, its fine for face and body.

It comes in two sizes: 2 fl oz or 4.2 fl oz and ranges in price from $6.99 to $12.99 USD.
