Sugar Highness – IPSY Glam Bag August 2016
IPSY’s August #GlamBag is themed ‘Sugar Highness/Live That Fantasy‘. Devoted to GLAM and supreme decadence!
I love the actual #IPSY bag this month! – very dreamy.
There were two bag options for August:
- The one that I received (which I think looks like a mermaid with blue/green hair)
- Or, a similar bag with a lavender-coiffed make-up diva (with a crown of makeup items)
Items this month mainly consisted of face care products, with one eyeliner and an applicator sponge.
Items in my bag (minus the gladiolus):
Glam Bag product minis were:
- BEAUTY FOR REAL I-Line 24-7 Eyeliner in Black Magic (true black)
- THE ORGANIC PHARMACY Rose Facial Cleansing Gel
- + one full size item: BEAU GADIS (which means A Beautiful Mess) Paris Pro Series Applicator Sponge
- NYX PROFESSIONAL MAKEUP Born To Glow Liquid Illuminator in Gleam (a pearlized bronze)
- PETER LAMAS Supreme Radiance Complexion Booster
I love the ORGANIC PHARMACY rose face wash! Its meant for all skin types, smells lightly of rose, is a clear gel, and I have found that it removes makeup completely with warm water. Bonuses are that this gel is gentle, kind to sensitive skin, and includes extracts of aloe, rose hip and bilberry. I will look for this in a full size after I use-up the sample.
I haven’t seen much of a difference from using the illuminator or complexion booster, but will continue to experiment with them. Neither have any odor.
The Peter Lamas Complexion Booster comes out of the tube fairly dark but blends in almost completely, leaving behind a faint shimmer. It contains retinol, salicylic acid, and light reflecting minerals – all to reduce fine lines – as well as coenzyme Q-10 and vitamin e oil for hydration. Its 100% vegan.
The NYX Liquid Illuminator is lightweight and also blends in well, but leaves behind a much more definite highlight with micro gold flecks. I have the Gleam color (pearlized bronze), but this also comes in Sunbeam (pink).
The Beauty For Real, Black Magic gel eyeliner (pictured in the 2nd photo above) is very highly pigmented and glides on easily, which I am always concerned with in an eyeliner in order to avoid any unnecessary tugging on the delicate eye area. It has a fairly fine tip, so I’ve been applying it directly in the lash line with a gentle back and forth motion.
And lastly – the black applicator sponge is a beauty staple, and perfect for blending in creme blushes or foundation. This Beau Gadis (which means ‘a beautiful mess‘) one is latex-free.
For comparison, this is what my sister received this month for her glam bag (sorry as the photo may be a bit blurry):
Hope your week progresses well! And, that everyone is enjoying the dwindling days of summer in the USA.
You Go Gorgeous!
