IPSY March 2016 GLAM BAG – hello Spring

Happy first full day of spring – 3/20/16! btw—this year is spring’s earliest arrival since the year 1896. Fittingly, Ipsy’s March Glam Bag is aptly themed ‘hello spring‘.

Ipsy’s March Glam Bag celebrates springtime with products that contribute to selfie-ready skin and a bloom of color for lips and cheeks. Of the three color combos of makeup bag options for this month’s subscription, I received the orange (not my fave color:) one, however my sister’s metallic pink Ipsy package included the aqua colored bag which I definitely I prefer!

Beauty product samples that I received this month (based on the quiz taken when you sign up for this beauty sample subscription) are:

• Living Proof – Perfect hair Day dry shampoo, 52g 1.8oz/92ml
• Luxie Beauty – Rose Gold Short Shader Brush #223, 5oz
• Nourish Organic – Rose Hip & Rosewater body oil mist, 0.5 fl oz/14ml
• Nudestix – Lip + Cheek Pencil, 2.5g/0.08oz, color – Mystic
• NYX Cosmetics – FULL SIZE Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick, 0.13oz/4ml, color – Kitten Heels (Petits Talons en Aiguille)

The Nudestix pencil contains shea, vitamin e and peptides, and it can be used for 4 different uses: lip balm, lip color, lip liner and/or cheek color. The color I received – Mystic – a nice, versatile nude color.

On the other end of the spectrum, the NYX cream lipstick in Kitten Heel is a very pigmented and a bright matte warm red. Other subscribers may also have received this sample in one of two other colors: Pink Lust or Soft Spoken. Once applied, this lipstick sets quickly to a matte finish that is waterproof and long lasting.

The makeup brush by Luxie Beauty, including the pink handle, is just over 6 inches long with nice, soft synthetic bristles. These brushes are fully vegan, cruelty-free, and coated in anti-bacterial solution.

I was so happy to receive a Living Proof item! because I have not had a chance to explore this brand yet.

This product includes a Triple Action Cleansing Technology; absorbs oil, sweat and odor; and has time-released fresh scent. Great benefits for hair! I will definitely be taking this sample size along on upcoming getaways.

Nourish Organic‘s Rose Hip & Rosewater body oil mist is a virtually odorless body oil (not sure why it is labeled ‘mist’). It utilizes the natural power of roses to improve skin’s texture and tone. When I applied it to my skin it melted in quickly and left behind no residue. For those of you who are a little afraid to use oils because of their heavy texture –  be reassured that this one fully absorbs to deeply hydrate. It can be specifically used for the purposes of mitigating sun burn damage.

Overall – I am very pleased with the items I received in this month’s Glam Bag. I’ve found this subscription service to be very valuable at just $10.00 USD a month (including shipping).
