PHYSICIANS FORMULA Shimmer Strips extreme shimmer

This little smoky eyeshadow palettes is a great find! It is one of those palettes you will wear for days on end after you first get it because the colors lend themselves to so many gorgeous combinations. I read some great reviews about this palette before I looked for it in stores and it’s my first Physicians Formula purchase. After browsing the cosmetics aisles at Target and Walgreens, I finally found it at Ultra. And, even there it was the last one on the rack. At just under $12.00USD, this petit palette is also a very good buy.

Shimmer Strips extreme shimmer comes in two color combination options. Mine is the Smoky Eyes selection (6408), with silver toned-black, warm and cool greys. The other selection is Nude Eyes with warm browns, creams and gold tones.

All these eyeshadows have silver glitter in varying amounts and many go on very sheer with sparkle, with build-able color, which keeps them from becoming overwhelming. Swatches:

Two trios of eye color selections are laid out in each palette. The first three are meant to be worn together (liner, contour, highlight), and the second three create another combination set. Diagrams for suggested looks can be found on the box are: natural, playful or dramatic. However, I find that really any of the colors look good together and it’s been fun to try different combinations of  day and evening looks. Here I am with a fairly light application (even though the sparkles do not come through well):

  • hypoallergenic
  • fragrance-free, paraben-free, gluten-free
  • safe for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers, non-irritating
  • dermatologist approved

I really recommend this palette, even if you think you will only wear it for evenings out and not with your daytime makeup routine. Its only drawback is that the sparkle causes it to go on a little unevenly initially.

Physicians Formula has created several shimmer or shimmer strip types of palettes in the past and I have seen some complaints that this latest one is hard to find although it looks like it is still available on the brand’s website.

Let me know if you have a Physicians Formula palette that you love!

Go Gorgeous! xo,
