CHARLOTTE TILBURY Filmstar Bronze and Glow, Cheek to Chic Swish and Pop Blusher
My curiosity over Charlotte Tilbury’s makeup line began when I read allure magazine’s, March 2015, article on The Influencers. Charlotte Tilbury was featured first and she has a fabulous range of products.
London-based, Charlotte also lived and was inspired by her time in artist-centric Ibiza. Her cosmetics were first introduced in the UK September 2013 and launched in the US fall 2014. As a celebrity makeup artist for many years, she was largely inspired by the looks of silver screen icons like Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn, Elizabeth Taylor and Sofia Loren.
I bought both the Cheek to Chic Swish & Pop Blusher in Love Glow, and the Filmstar Bronze & Glow (one color duo choice) from Nordstrom.
The Bronze & Glow comes with two separate color pans for the face—a Highlight and a Sculpt shade.
These shades will look good on all skin tones and work together to define, sculpt, accentuate, slim, shade and highlight the planes of your face. The packaging is ingenious and opens in several layers:
The darker/bronze shade is for sculpting. It can be swept up the hollows of cheeks, applied to temples, jawline, sides and tip of nose as well as the crease of eyelids. The lighter shade is a highlighter and looks great when swept down the center of the nose, tops of cheeks, cupid’s bow of the lip and brow bone.
The Cheek to Chic Swish & Pop Blusher was designed to be used in tandem with the bronzer/highlighter. It should be brushed on the apples of cheeks and a bit can be added to the top of the cheekbones. Each of these concentric blushes has a pop color in the center circle and a swish color in the outer circle. The pop color is intended for the apple of cheeks and the swish color for the top of the cheekbones.
I chose the color Love Glow of this blush. It is a coral coppery coral/pink combo. Other options are: Ecstasy—warm nude/medium peach, First Love—beige/tan, Love Is The Drug—nude pink/warm pink, Sex On Fire—nude/deep tan, and The Climax—warm brown/dark coral. They all rely on a ‘Light Flex Technology’ to create a luminous complexion.
I like the Bronze & Glow product best of these two. And, these colors look fine to me even without the addition of blush. They give the face a sun-kissed warmth that will look great as the basis for a nude look.
