NEW BEAUTY TESTTUBE February 2015

The latest NewBeauty TESTTUBE arrived last week. This sampling program arrives 6 times a year, focusing on the most recent beauty innovations and products or ‘Beauty Solutions.’ Each tube currently costs about $30.00 plus shipping and includes the NewBeauty magazine that is sent separately. Heres what was included in this springtime TESTTUBE:

Several hair products were nestled in this issue of the tube, including:

–> John Frieda 7-day Volume In-Shower Treatment: A lightweight semi-permanent in shower volume treatment. It contains polymers that help to thicken individual hair strands by expanding to create texture and fullness. Protein and Keratin help to keep hair thicker for up to 7 days. The product is a milky light blue with a slight sweet smell, and its a last step in your shower routine (after shampoo and conditioner). After saturating hair, rinse thoroughly.

–> John Freida Frizz Ease Beyond Smooth Shampoo, Conditioner and Primer: These hair products are all silicone-free, safe for color-treated hair, and work to penetrate the inside of each hair strand to leave it soft and smooth. The Primer should be applied to hair after most of the water has been squeezed out, and is leave-in.

The makeup samples: ybf beauty Mechanical Eye Pencil in Charming Champagne is a sparkling beige eye pencil. Although NewBeauty says this soft twist-up pencil can also be used as a highlighter on cheeks, brow bone and Cupid’s bow, I think the color is a bit too sparkly for general face highlighting. It is great however for lids (under or as eyeshadow) and on the inside corners of the eyes. My sample broke just under the tip when I first rolled it up from its container, not sure if that was a result of being jostled during the shipping.

Mally High Shine liquid lipstick in Mally’s Look is a Classic Nude with pale pink hues. This color should look fine with any outfit, and gives lips real color with shine. The base of the tube twists to push color up into a lip brush on the other end, for easy application.

And, I like the thick Lumene Now Vitamin C Day Cream with SPF15. It protects against sun exposure, is full of antioxidants, and features Arctic Cloudberry that brightens and strengthens skin with omega acids. It also has a nice slight citrus smell.

The Key West Aloe Gentle Aloe Facial Cleanser is effective in removing all my makeup before bed with a pleasant, gentle citrus scent. It’s pH balanced, 30% aloe, great for sensitive skin and helps rebalance skin moisture. I’ve found this to be a great product and will likely order a full size bottle via keywestaloe.com after I’ve fully used the sample.

Another item that will get you ready for summer are Tan Towel Self-Tan Towelettes. The box contains 5 separately packaged cruelty-free towelettes for fair to medium skin tones. They can be used on face and body, are supposed to be streak-free, and produce a warm glow within 2-4 hours of application. I haven’t used these yet, but may give them a first try on my legs.
