I have quite the collection of MAC (Make-up Art Cosmetics) lipsticks! With so many fabulous, ravishing, vivid colors and formulas to choose from – its hard not want to continue to purchase new colors.
I’ve included a picture of some older favorite shades, I’ve had for a little while: Fast Play – matte, medium, violetty-mauve; Craving – vivid violet rose; and Amorous – matte rose mauve. These are all great day colors, not too dark and not too flashy.
The Sheen Supreme lipsticks have thicker, full-coverage texture with huge color payoff and brilliant sheen. Good to Be Bad is a dark blue purple and Quite The Thing is a medium, bright magenta/violet. The cases for these are sleek and shiny, perfect cylinders.
MAC Mineralize lipsticks have the largest cases. These lip colors contain a 77 Mineral Moist Complex, are lightweight, creamy with some shine and build-able. I lean towards the mauve tones, these are both on the lighter side – great for daywear. Grand Dame has a definite pink base and Glamour Era has some nude/brown undertones.
I purchased two colors from MAC’s recent Heirloom Collection. Love the classic MAC lipstick shaped cases with imbedded glitter, that these come in. Salon Rouge is a medium dark, matte slightly blue-red. Rebel is one of my new favorites – a medium deep cool violet. These are both limited-edition.
MAC has offered several Viva Glam options in recent years – since 1994 (one was a Rhianna color and one a Miley Cyrus version). All the Viva Glam tubes have red metal casing under the top. This one is Viva Glam IV – a somewhat sheer, fairly light, blue-ish frost pink.
Fluid is an almost brownish frost mauve.
Both are medium tones.
Although I tend to stick to the purple/blue toned hues, MAC is one of the only lines I’ve found to offer such a wide range of wearable, both warm and cool, colors.
Let me know if you have a favorite MAC shade! These are only a few from MAC’s huge array of color options.
