URBAN DECAY Eyeshadow Primer Potion
UD’s Eyeshadow Primer Potion is cult favorite and one of my go-to products. This eyelid primer is sold on the Urban Decay site, Sephora and ULTA to name a few stores. It comes in four standard choices, and one new anti-aging option. The one that I use virtually everyday is the Original formula – it has a slight pearl shimmer, looks like it may be white at first, but goes on virtually sheer with a tiny bit of opalescence. Those that are varying shades of nude color are: Sin – a champagne shimmer, Eden – a matte warm nude, and Greed – a sparkling golden shade.
Most amazing about this primer is its ability to make eyeshadow stay put all day, especially necessary for glittery eyeshadow shades that tend to have more fallout. It helps smooth the eyelid, seems to offer some moisturizing properties, and promises to give your eyeshadow 24-hour crease-free hold. The standard size tubes are $20.00 each, except the Anti-aging option that runs $24.00.
The squeeze tube is the new standard packaging for this product – better ensuring that you can use every last drop of it (I used to only be able to find it with the wand top). Whether using the primer with an applicator or directly from the squeeze tube, I find it best to smooth it over my lid with my finger tip to ensure full coverage. And, this is the first eye product I apply (before both eye liner and eye shadow).
For the longest time I couldn’t use this primer at all because my shadows creased within 2 hours, I have extremely oily lids, but now I’m taking accutane and this almost too drying! But it is very good at grasping color and keeping it in place.
XOXO

Veronica,
Hi! Yes, I tend to have oily lids too, so I have to be pretty choosy to find the right primer. They do make a big difference in maintaining my eyeshadow all day! Thanks for visiting! Jen
I got the original formula and love it. Tempted to try Eden.
This is truly fabulous stuff! Love it.
This was the first product I ever used from Urban Decay. Love love love it still to this day! ~ Lauren
