BARE MINERALS eyeshadow palette – The Cocktail Hour

The Cocktail Hour bare Minerals palette itself is very nice – gold toned and about 4 inches by almost 3 inches rectangular with rounded corners. It is slender, easy to carry in your purse. The inside mirror is big – as wide as the case. It holds 8 eyeshadows and a small brush (with brushes on both ends).

I’ve had this palette for a little while, so it may no longer be one that Bare Escentuals carries – but the colors are very nice. I thought it would be worth reviewing in case you are thinking of buying other bare Minerals eyeshadows. These shadows have buildable color and the glittery ones do not have the typical fallout that some other lines do. This palette has a nice range of colors, the one matte dark brown and dark blue (in the opposite corners of the palette) are the best options for lining the eye.The two lightest colors (icebreaker and libation) make good highlighters and the other four colors can be combined to used in an array of combinations for the lid and crease.

top row colors – BLACK TIE OPTIONAL – very dark matte brown; ICEBREAKER – sparkly pale pink; SWANKY – medium sparkly mauve; SPIKED – medium tangerine orange with a sheen

bottom row colors – ELIXIR – warm  pinkish violet with a sheen; INVITE ONLY – taupe with a sheen; LIBATION light frosty beige; SHAKEN NOT STIRRED deep midnight blue with a subtle glitter
